This watercolor evolved as I worked on it and had no title until it was done and I contemplated what and where this scene was. Certain effects “just happened” in the drying process and resulted in an area that seemed like moisture or fog between the sky and the land. Without anything growing, only air, water, rocks, and sky, it reminded me of the progression of creation in Genesis of what the earth may have looked like between the second and third day. The light from the day had been divided. The waters had been separated from the firmament and the dry land emerged out of the formless void but no plants yet existed until the third day ended.
