On a recent camping trip. I spent much of my time by a small creek painting rocks and ripples in water, trees in autumn colors and ground cover plants that were turning their brilliant hues. In walking along the road, I saw a large pine tree with many branches filled with pine cones.

Taking a branch, I painted “Hanging On” in my studio with the feel of approaching winter and days ahead of diminishing hours of daylight.
